3.5 million children are growing up in poverty in the UK. Itโ€™s one of the worst rates in the industrialised world and successive governments continue to struggle to bring it into line. Struggling & without a voice, ‘Poor Kids’ shines a light on this pressing issue.

How shitty for these parents that they cannot care for their children.

I told my son about these kids and how lucky he was that he has all the snacks, food and toys and games he wants and he asked me why they didn't have enough food n toys etc and I explained in kids terms why. then he tells me "well if u can get them on the phone we can go get them and they can eat our food and play with me". This video has definitely tugged at my heart! we haven't always had whatever we wanted but when we have had a rough time in the past we've never went without a meal or our necessities. We are blessed. I always try to let my son know how blessed he is so he will always appreciate the things he has that we take for granted at times.

I know I'm going to get hate for this but I couldn't care less. The people that can't be bothered to get a job and sit at home all day watching daytime TV are what's wrong with Britain right now. They didn't pay any attention in school and were almost always the bully. I'd give people like them sympathy, if they had taken the opportunity they had, and be bothered to get a job they wouldn't be in this mess. We should actually be offering benefits to the immigrants from the Middle East who didn't have the opportunity most of this country's civilians had. Rant over

I'm glad I didn't grow up poor like this, I could've been but my mom did everything to make me and my sister have nice clothes and grow up having a good childhood.
My mom was attractive so she'd get her money through dating wealthy men. She would even stay with people she hated just so we can have nice things and live healthy.

I'm lucky I never grew up in a poor family. I got a big house and lot of things. But in order to not take a risk to get poor, I'll never have kids. People should understand that if they don't have enough money (have low salary) they should never have kids. Period.

It is easy to judge them say get a job or why did u have kids when you can't afford the fact is there are problems in our societies everywhere in the world but with better management of resources things could get better perhaps more charities that empower people rather than giving them pennies i feel sad and want to do something about it may be writing a weblog and trying to find people that are willing to help others could be my share I don't know I hope I can make a difference
